The Belgian expects Mauricio Pochettino to extend his contract
Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen thinks he will still be at the club come 2020.
The centre-back’s contract is set to expire at the end of the current campaign, though Spurs have an option to extend it by a further year.
Vertonghen reached the World Cup semi-final with Belgium in the summer
Vertonghen expects his club to activate that option.
“My contract is expiring at the end of the season, but Tottenham have an option to extend it with one year,” he explained.
“I think they will take up the option. We’ll see what happens.”
The Belgian is currently 31 years old (turns 32 in April) and has starred for both club and country in recent months.
