Real Madrid are fans of Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino

Zidane’s resignation days after guiding the club to a third successive Champions League win stunned everyone, and Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will insist on the club being hugely compensated if Real make a move, report The Times.
Pochettino signed a new five-year contract worth £8.5 million a year in May, which does not include a release clause and has not been given any assurances by Levy he would be allowed to leave in the event of an approach from Real.
Pochettino received assurances about Tottenham’s future transfer budget before signing the deal. If his head is turned by Real, though, Tottenham are ready to demand the full value of his contract to release him.
The Times report Tottenham are confident of rejecting Real’s advances because they believe that 46-year-old Pochettino is committed to building a young team into a European force.
The Premier League side are preparing to move into a newly built stadium for the 2018/19 season and on signing his new deal, Pochettino said: “I am honoured to have signed a new long-term contract as we approach one of the most significant periods in the club’s history and be the manager that will lead this team into our new world-class stadium.
“This is a special club – we always strive to be creative in the way we work both on and off the pitch and will continue to stick to our principles in order to achieve the success this club deserves.”
Real Madrid are long time admirers of the Argentine, whose Spurs side beat Real Madrid at Wembley in the Champions League earlier this season, while the fact he has claimed he would never take charge of Barcelona, Real’s fierce rivals, no doubt stands him in good stead.
