He teams up with Matchroom Boxing alongside K2 Promotions with his next fight to be shown live on streaming channel DAZN and Sky Sports
Tony Bellew’s proposed fight with Oleksandr Usyk has been given a major boost after it was announced the Ukrainian joined Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing.
Usyk will be stable-mates with Bellew, who is desperate for a crack at the undisputed Cruiserweight champion’s WBO, WBA, WBC AND IBF titles.
Usyk, who is nicknamed ‘The Cat’, teams up with Matchroom Boxing alongside K2 Promotions with his next fight to be shown live on streaming channel DAZN and Sky Sports.
After winning the World Boxing Super Series final against Murat Gassiev in July, Usyk called out former WBC champion Bellew and is eyeing a defence of all his belts against the scouser in a UK showdown later this year.
Usyk said: “I’m thrilled that K2 Promotions will be working with Matchroom Boxing moving forward to secure me the biggest fights out there. Boxing for me is all about drama and victory, and there is plenty more to come.
“A fight with Tony Bellew would be a momentous occasion. England is more than just a country for me, in this country I got my Olympic gold medal. England is a lucky country for me. Fortune comes only with hard work.”
