The eight-division world champion is set to return in January
Manny Pacquiao has reportedly told media in his native Philippines that he will be fighting Adrien Broner next.
The legendary eight-weight world champion has been linked with a move to join up with Floyd Mayweather’s adviser Al Haymon in recent weeks, and this confirmation lines up with those rumours.
According to Spin PH, Pacquiao was asked by reporters for information on his next fight and replied: “Broner, Adrien Broner. I think either January 12 or 19.”
It is theorised that Manny Pacquiao’s reported two-fight deal with Haymon consists of a very straightforward plan: Face Adrien Broner, rematch Floyd Mayweather, then retire.
Whether this comes to fruition is, of course, yet to be seen.
