The 30-year-old is out to shock the world once more in LA on Saturday night
Tyson Fury has released an emotional video ahead of his heavyweight showdown with Deontay Wilder.
The Briton is bidding to ‘fulfil a childhood dream’ and wrestle the WBC world title from Wilder’s grasp.
Victory in LA would be a remarkable achievement for Fury, who has battled mental health and drug issues.
Having stunned Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 to win the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO world title belts, Fury subsequently spent two-a-half years away from the sport before making his return to the ring earlier this year.
As he prepares for his fight against Wilder – which will take place in the early hours of Sunday morning for UK viewers – his management team, MKT Global, posted a video of the 30-year-old captioned ‘MAN OF THE HOUR. Tonight, history will be made. Are you with us?’.
The video begins with a picture of Fury as a baby and the fighter tells the story of his journey up to this point.
He says: “It’s a fairytale ending. Even better than defending my titles when I had them. A man goes from rags to riches, loses it all within a year, but wins it back. How great of a story is that?
“There comes a point in every great fighter’s life where they have to meet someone who is going to sing them their legacy when they’re gone.
“Listen I’m going into this as a challenger as someone who’s trying to fulfill a childhood dream of winning every belt in the heavyweight division.
“And the fact I have chosen you and I have had two fights coming back and I want this fight is a statement for the world to see.
“They may call you the Bronze Bomber but I am the furious one and you will feel the wrath of the fury when he comes to America to crack the United States. 100 percent.”
The fight is scheduled to get under way in LA between 4am and 5am in the UK on Sunday morning.
Fury weighed in more than three stone heavier than his American rival.
The Gypsy King hit the scales at 18st 4lbs 8oz (256.5lbs), while the Bronze Bomber registered 15st 2lbs 8oz (212.5lbs).
