Footage emerges of Oleksandr Usyk’s stunned reaction to Derek Chisora’s brutal KO of Artur Szpilka

Oleksandr Usyk is renowned for being one of the most colourful and entertaining figures in boxing; both inside and outside of the ring.

The Ukrainian may well be an underpants-wearing, ball-juggling free spirit, but he represents an ominous threat to the heavyweight division.

After clearing out the best of the world at cruiserweight, Usyk knocked out Tony Bellew in Manchester and set his sights on moving up in weight to replicate his undisputed status.

Before making his professional debut against Chazz Witherspoon, the 33-year-old watched his next opponent Derek Chisora in action against Artur Szpilka at The O2 Arena last year.

‘War’ Chisora may well be a grizzled veteran, but there are few fighters on the planet more game than the 36-year-old and he made light work of the Pole with a devastating knockout.

Before he locks horns with pound-for-pound great Usyk on Saturday at the Wembley Arena, Chisora will be buoyed by watching rare footage of the Ukrainian’s reaction to his devastating knockout.

Sky Sports managed to pick up the hilarious moment on camera and it makes for fantastic viewing for fans.

Dave Allen spent time in Ukraine preparing the former cruiserweight champion for the upcoming bout and rates him on a par with current WBC and Ring Magazine heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

“First of all, he is a great fella,” Allen said, speaking to Sports Day on talkSPORT 2. “Second of all, he’s just very annoyingly good at everything.

“He’s a man that can do anything; I was over there and he only ever wore his underpants to training which I thought was odd.

“He’d be stood in his underpants and juggling five balls at a time, he would be doing 100 kick-ups with a rugby ball – the man can just do anything.

“We’d get to the boxing and he was unbelievable, maybe the most talented man I’ve ever sparred with.

“Him and Tyson Fury, for me, are just so many levels above everyone else in terms of boxing ability.”
