European Open: Kyle Edmund thrashes Albert Ramos-Vinolas in Antwerp

British number one Kyle Edmund thrashed Spain’s Albert Ramos-Vinolas 6-0 6-2 to reach the European Open quarter-finals.

Edmund, the top seed in Antwerp, won the first 10 games of the match and completed the win in just 57 minutes.

The world number 15 will play qualifier Ilya Ivashka in the last eight as he bids to win his first ATP title.

Earlier, Britain’s Cameron Norrie narrowly missed out on a place in the quarter-finals, losing in three tight sets to Diego Schwartzman.

The British number two lost 7-6 (7-1) 6-7 (3-7) 7-5 in two hours and 34 minutes.

He fought back from 4-2 down in the decider to lead 5-4 but world number 17 Schwartzman broke serve again before closing out the match.
