The World Boxing Council have voted for an immediate rematch between Fury and Deontay Wilder
Anthony Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, says he will negotiate a fight with Tyson Fury ‘in five minutes’ if the Gypsy King is seriously interested.
After Fury’s controversial draw with WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, attention has turned to the next big bout in the division.
It was thought that would involve Joshua, who only needs the WBC belt to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, however the World Boxing Council have unanimously voted for an immediate rematch between the Bronze Bomber and the Gypsy King.
Fury’s promoter Frank Warren hopes to get that fight finalised “sometime in spring 2019”, however Hearn suggested the Gypsy King might go rogue and organise an all-British affair with Joshua.
“I don’t know Tyson Fury’s contractual situation – he messaged me the other day to talk about the fight.
“I think Tyson’s going to do his own thing and if he wants to make a fight he can make it on his own.
“The quickest way for Tyson Fury to make a fight against Anthony Joshua is to call me, and me and AJ will come round and get it done in five minutes.
“But we’ll see. That’s not a fight that’s being negotiated at the moment, but we’ll see what happens.”
