The British brawlers squared off in an epic clash two years ago, with a rematch expected to be announced imminently
Dereck Chisora has revealed he expects to finally confirm his rematch with Dillian Whyte next week, once Eddie Hearn is back in the country.
The duo have talked about settling their beef in the ring once and for all after their 2016 classic left viewers enthralled.
In what was tipped to be a brutal slug-fest, the British rivals went deep into the trenches and traded heavy shots before Whyte was controversially named as the winner.
In the two years since, many words were said but no contract signed for the rematch the fans wanted. But, speaking to Sky Sports News, Chisora revealed it could be closer than ever.
“We want to fight Dillian. It’s going to happen,” Chisora told Sky Sports. “Why is it not going to happen?
“It will be announced when [promoter Eddie Hearn] comes back from America, I think. Talks are going well.
“We’re just waiting for Eddie to come back from America. He’s in America and he’ll be back on Monday.”

Whyte had suggested he was going to leave te negotiating table to focus on his pursuit of heavyweight gold by teasing a fight with Dominic Breazeale.
Chisora was not concerned by Whyte’s comments, saying: “Oh man, tell the puppy not to worry. The fight is happening on the December 22.”
