Tyson Fury has recalled the story of a recent incident in which he took off his shoes and gave them to a barefoot stranger in the street.

The 30-year-old is currently out in Los Angeles as he’s due to face off with America’s Deontay Wilder for the WBC world heavyweight title at the Staples Center on Saturday night.

Ahead of the fight, Fury’s trainer Ben Davison spilled the story of his incident with the man to IFLTV, much to the annoyance of the ‘Gypsy King’ himself who claimed he’d rather his good deed was kept quiet.

“What happened was, we were in the Starbucks having a coffee and I was minding my own business in a dream world really,” Fury began as he told the tale from his perspective.

“I was just looking out the window, but I wasn’t really looking at anything.

“There was this old fella outside, no shoes on him, one foot bleeding, and everybody was looking at him like, ‘Oh, get rid of him’

“Anyway, he walked off and I thought to myself, ‘That’s somebody’s child, that’s a human being.’

“And as he walked off through the crowd I heard something say to me, ‘Give him your shoes.’

“I chased him down and he went, ‘What have I done? I haven’t done anything.’ He thought I was gonna hit him or something.

“So I said, ‘Here. Here’s these shoes, you can have them.’

“He said, ‘Thank you, sir, have a great day.’

“I walked off with no shoes on down the street, he probably sold them later on for $ 5!”
