It seems the pair did not settle their bad blood in the ring last year
Conor McGregor has brutally turned down an olive branch offered by Floyd Mayweather.
The former two-weight UFC champion took to Twitter to publicly slam his former foe on Wednesday, despite the legendary boxer having praised him just a few hours earlier.
When asked about McGregor’s upcoming return to the Octagon against Khabib Nurmagomedov, Mayweather told TMZ: “Conor McGregor, he’s a tough competitor.
“Conor McGregor’s not gonna back down from anyone, he’s not scared, he’s a warrior.”
The American even offered the Irishman a place to train for the bout, in his own personal gym at the Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas.
However it appears that some of their previous bitterness still hasn’t been put to rest by McGregor who stated: “F*** the Mayweathers, except Senior and Roger.
“There is no peace here kid. Step up or step down.”
Never one to shy away from a confrontation, Mayweather responded with a tweet which showed him hurting his opponent in the ring.
He captioned it: “Easiest nine figures I ever made! All work is what?”
