The world champions suffered a friendly defeat

World champions Germany were beaten 2-1 by neighbours Austria in a pre-World Cup friendly on Saturday.
Manuel Neuer returned to start for Die Mannschaft for the first time since breaking his foot in September, but couldn’t prevent the surprise defeat.
Germany took the lead after just eleven minutes with a goal from Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil. They carried this advantage into the break.
However, second half goals from Martin Hinteregger and Alessandro Schopf turned the match on its head and handed the away side a setback ahead of their upcoming World Cup defence in Russia.
Austria didn’t qualify for the tournament, which makes this result all the more shocking.
Germany meanwhile will face Saudi Arabia on June 8 before their first group game against Mexico on June 17.
