The striker has scored two goals to put the Gunners of their third round tie against the Championship side
Danny Welbeck is one of the most ridiculed players in English football but very few are laughing tonight as he has been in great form during Arsenal’s Carabao Cup tie against Brentford.
The striker, who has 42 appearances for England, is something of a bit-part player for the Gunners but he’s certainly given Unai Emery plenty to think about with his first-half brace against the Bees.
It’s put Arsenal in control of their third round tie and some Gooners were quick to praise Welbeck on Twitter.
A few eagle-eyed fans pointed out how Welbeck has now scored four goals in 2018, which is one more than Alexis Sanchez, who left the Emirates Stadium for rivals Manchester United in January.
