The unified heavyweight champion’s last two bouts haven’t been as exciting as his previous appearances
Anthony Joshua has declared that he will be returning to his explosive best when he takes on Alexander Povetkin, September 22, live on talkSPORT.
The unified WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight world champion believes his decision to fight in a cautious fashion in his last two fights has been ruining his style and, as such, wants to rectify this in his next bout.
On a media conference call, Joshua stated: “I’ve just gotta focus on Povektin, go in there and have fun, don’t be cautious because it’s ruining my aggressive style.
“Just go out there and take out Povetkin like I would do any other opponent.

“How will I approach it? Maybe I will box and keep it simple. Maybe I might keep a tight guard and go pound-for-pound, trade-for-trade.
“The reason I say that is because I’m versatile. I can keep it long or slug it out. It depends what I analyse from my opponent. I analyse them punch by punch and I switch up my style as the rounds go on.”
