talkSPORT host Adrian Durham launched into amazing rant about Tottenham following their Champions League defeat to Inter Milan.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side conceded two late goals at the San Siro in their opening group stage match on Tuesday night to lose 2-1 – their third straight defeat in all competitions.
And Durham, alongside former Arsenal star and talkSPORT’s Ray Parlour, gave his diagnosis for Spurs’ recent downturn in form.
The Drivetime host tore into the club, suggesting the players have been misled into believing how good they were.
He also laid into boss Pochettino for his team selection ahead of the game as well as claiming the fans were partly to blame for Spurs’ under-performing.
Durham said: “Spurs fans may not like this because they are forever going on about how there’s nobody they could sign that could get into their XI.
“But I’m looking at those players and I think they’ve been told too many times just how good they are and it’s gone to their heads and they’re not actually that good!
“Last night for example. Davinson Sanchez was basically told ‘we don’t need Toby Alderweireld, you’re as good as him and we’ll be fine.’”
“Obviously that’s not true and in his head he’s thinking he is as good as Alderweireld when he’s not.
“Harry Kane won the Golden Boot but was he actually that good at the World Cup? Not really. And he hasn’t been that good at for a while.
“Mousa Dembele. Pochettino told him he was one of the best players in the world last season. Well, what a load of rubbish that is!
“Ben Davies. Wales legend because of Euro 2016 but they didn’t even qualify for the World Cup! How good are you? How good do you think you are and how good are you being told you are?
“Heung-min Son. He wins the Asia Cup and that’s fine but he comes back thinking he’s some kind of superhero! But it’s not true.
“Eric Dier. Made England captain? He barely passed the ball forward never mind to a team-mate.
“Michel Vorm is told ‘you are second best to Hugo Lloris at a football club in the Premier League’. Since when? He’s nowhere near good enough.”

“Harry Winks. Pochettino said he could be England’s Andres Iniesta!
“If you start filling these players’ heads with nonsense like that, if you start telling them they’re flipping brilliant they’ll start believing it and it will go to their heads!
“And all of a sudden they’ll stop performing. Look at last night, they’re being found out!”
Parlour stepped in to suggest it was odd defenders Toby Alderweireld and Kieran Trippier were not selected for the crucial game while Christian Eriksen, who gave Spurs the lead against Inter, has been the only player to give a good account of himself consistently which Durham agreed with.
And this prompted Durham to also criticise the Tottenham fans for their role in making their team perform badly before claiming the north London club would not finish in the top four this season.
Durham added: “Dembele by the way can’t play two games in a week yet he started on Saturday against Liverpool and started against Inter. What is Pochettino thinking of?
“It’s not just the players who are letting it go to their heads, it’s the fans as well who think these players are brilliant when actually they’re not.”
